Ts. Dr. Seow Ta Wee is an Associate Professor at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Johor. He obtained his PhD in Environmental Management from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2009. He has 19 years of teaching, research and consultation experience in different areas of interests including solid waste and environmental management, sustainable and community development. His transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary research cover aspects that ranges from geography, environment, construction to social science. At international level, he was appointed as the Guest Lecturer in Universitas Kepulauan Riau, Batam, Indonesia and Visiting Research Scholar at the Department of Geography, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. At national level, he is involved in the development of National Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Policy, MARA Technical Vocational Education Strategic, Amendment of University & University Collage Act 1971 (AUKU) 2021, and Master Plan for Johor’s Forestry Strategic Plan 2015-2016. To date, he has more than 300 scientific publications including journals, proceedings, policy papers, books and book chapters. He has supervised more than 30 post-graduates including post-doctorals who are now professionals in various sectors.
