Publication Ethics
CTReSS 8.0 adheres to internationally recognised standards of publication ethics. Authors are expected to follow the principles outlined by the Committee on Publishing Ethics (COPE) to ensure integrity, transparency, and quality in scholarly publishing. COPE provides guidance on ethical practices in research and publication, including authorship, originality, peer review, and the responsible reporting of research findings. Authors submitting to CTReSS 8.0 are expected to:
- Ensure that all submitted work is original and has not been published elsewhere
- Properly cite and acknowledge all sources of information
- Avoid all forms of plagiarism, fabrication, and data manipulation
- Adhere to ethical standards in authorship and contribution
- Comply with the conference’s peer review and publication requirements
All submissions will be subject to plagiarism screening and peer review. Manuscripts that do not meet ethical standards will be rejected. For more information on publication ethics, please refer to the Committee on Publishing Ethics (COPE) https://publicationethics.org.
Peer Review Policies
Peer Review Process
All submitted full papers will undergo a structured peer review process to ensure quality, originality, and relevance. Acceptance is based on reviewers’ recommendations and the overall scientific merit of the manuscript, including technical content, clarity, and adherence to formatting requirements.
The review process consists of three stages:
-
Initial Abstract Screening
-
Peer Review of Full Manuscripts
-
Final Decision and Recommendation
Initial Abstract Screening
All submitted abstracts are evaluated by the editorial committee to ensure alignment with the conference theme and minimum quality standards.
Abstracts that do not meet the required scope or criteria may be returned to the authors for revision or declined. This process helps authors avoid delays and ensures that only relevant submissions proceed to the full review stage.
Peer Review of Full Manuscripts
Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit full manuscripts within the specified timeline. Each manuscript will be reviewed by two independent reviewers with relevant expertise under a blind peer review process. Reviewers will evaluate submissions based on:
- Originality and contribution to knowledge
- Soundness of methodology and analysis
- Relevance to conference themes
- Clarity, structure, and overall presentation
To ensure timely publication, reviewers are expected to provide their evaluations within a 3 weeks review period. Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editorial committee will make a recommendation regarding the manuscript.
Evaluation Criteria
Reviewers will consider the following aspects:
-
Relevance to the conference scope
-
Scientific and technical quality
-
Originality of results
-
Clarity and organisation of the manuscript
-
Appropriateness of title and abstract
-
Quality and relevance of figures and tables
-
Adequacy of references and literature context
-
Overall quality of language
Final Decision
The editorial committee will make the final decision based on reviewers’ comments. Decisions may fall into one of the following categories:
- Accept
- Revisions Required
- Reject
Authors will receive reviewer feedback and are required to revise their manuscripts accordingly where applicable. In cases of conflicting reviewer opinions, an additional reviewer may be appointed. The editor retains full authority over the final acceptance or rejection of all submissions.
Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers are expected to:
- Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback
- Maintain confidentiality of all submitted materials
- Declare any conflicts of interest
Plagiarism Policy
All submitted manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism. Submissions must not exceed 20% similarity with existing published works. Manuscripts that fail to meet this requirement may be rejected.
Errata and Retraction Policy
Once published, articles cannot be modified. Any necessary corrections will be issued as an erratum. Authors are responsible for notifying the editorial team if errors are identified after publication. In cases of serious ethical concerns or inaccuracies, the editorial team reserves the right to retract published articles in accordance with standard publication practices.
